Pastor Antoine fled religious persecution in Burkina Faso and now seeks asylum in New York City. During the week, he speeds through Manhattan’s streets as a food delivery worker, braving harsh weather and long hours for barely $100 a day. With rising immigration and a surplus of riders, his earnings have dwindled despite the city's 2024 minimum wage policy. But every Sunday, in a small church in the East Bronx, he leads a community of fellow Burkinabè immigrants, finding solace in faith as he struggles with isolation, financial hardship, and the uncertainty of his legal status.
